This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and organised legal professional to join a busy family law team, supporting solicitors and legal colleagues with a varied caseload of private family matters.
The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting clients through often sensitive and challenging circumstances, providing efficient case management and administrative support while helping to deliver a professional, empathetic and client-focused service.

- Assisting solicitors with the management and progression of a varied family law caseload.
- Preparing, drafting and reviewing legal correspondence, court documents and other case-related paperwork.
- Supporting divorce proceedings and financial remedy matters, including the preparation and organisation of financial documentation.
- Assisting with private children matters, including child arrangements and related court applications.
- Supporting cases involving non-molestation orders, occupation orders and other urgent protective applications.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date electronic and physical case files.
- Liaising professionally with clients, solicitors, counsel, courts and other relevant third parties.
- Taking client instructions, gathering relevant information and preparing documentation for appointments and hearings.
- Monitoring deadlines, maintaining case management records and ensuring matters progress efficiently.
- Supporting the preparation of court bundles and other documentation required for hearings.
- Providing sensitive, compassionate and professional support to clients dealing with relationship breakdowns and other difficult family circumstances.
- Assisting with general administrative duties to support the effective running of the department.
The precise balance of responsibilities will depend on your experience and the needs of the team.
About You

You will ideally have:
- Previous experience in a family law paralegal, legal assistant or family legal secretary role.
- A good understanding of family law procedures and documentation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- A professional and empathetic approach when dealing with clients in sensitive situations.
- The ability to handle confidential information with discretion and care.
- Confidence using case management systems and standard office software.
- A proactive approach, with the ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team.
