Our client is a leading national law firm with a strong UK presence and a well-established Planning practice. Our client’s Cardiff office plays a key role in advising major public and private sector clients across Wales and the UK on complex, high‑profile development and infrastructure projects.
We are seeking an experienced Planning Solicitor to join our client’s growing Planning & Environment team in Cardiff. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior lawyer to take a leading role on significant planning matters, work closely with key clients, and contribute to the strategic development of the practice in Wales.
Key Responsibilities- Major infrastructure and regeneration projects
- Residential, commercial, and mixed‑use developments
- Compulsory purchase and compensation
- Planning agreements (s106), development consent orders, and highways matters
- Planning enforcement, appeals, and judicial review
- Qualified solicitor in England & Wales; significant post‑qualification experience in planning law, typically 6+ PQE
- Strong technical expertise with experience handling complex and high‑value matters
- Proven ability to manage files autonomously and mentor junior team members
- Commercially minded with excellent client‑facing and communication skills
- Experience of Welsh planning matters and devolved regimes is highly desirable
