Position: Full-time (part-time considered)
TSR Legal are pleased to currently be working with a highly regarded, progressive law firm to recruit a Conveyancing Solicitor, Legal Executive (CILEx) or Licensed Conveyancer to join their established Residential Conveyancing team.
This opportunity would suit someone who values quality of work over volume, enjoys building relationships, and wants to be part of a firm that genuinely prioritises culture, wellbeing and long-term career development.
The Role
You will manage a varied caseload of residential property matters, including:
- Sales and purchases
- Transfers of equity
- Remortgages
This is not a high-volume environment. The firm is known for delivering a high standard of client service and receives consistently strong reviews across online platforms.
You will be supported by a large and well-structured residential property department, one of the biggest in the Bristol area, spanning multiple offices.
Key Responsibilities
- Fee-earning & Case Management
- Managing files from instruction through to post-completion
- Interviewing clients, taking instructions and maintaining detailed file notes
- Drafting and reviewing contract documentation
- Raising and responding to enquiries
- Submitting searches and reporting on title, mortgage and search results
- Acting for lenders and handling exchanges and completions
- Advising clients on progress, timescales and costs
- Maintaining up-to-date legal and regulatory knowledge
Compliance & Risk
- Reviewing compliance documentation
- Analysing source of funds and AML evidence
- Maintaining file checklists and quality standards
- Issuing client care letters and undertakings
Accounts & Financial Procedures
- Preparing bills, completion statements and financial breakdowns
- Requesting and processing client payments
- Liaising with accounts on telegraphic transfers and fund movements
- Ensuring all financial procedures are followed correctly
Business Development
- Participating in networking, marketing and business development activities
- Building relationships with local estate agents and referrers
- Engaging with firm-wide and departmental marketing initiatives
The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive (CILEx) or Licensed Conveyancer
- Law degree or CILEx Professional Qualification (CPQ)
- Experience handling residential conveyancing matters (local market experience beneficial but not essential)
- Confident using IT systems and adaptable to new processes
- Strong client care ethos and attention to detail
- Comfortable engaging in networking and business development activities
- Collaborative, approachable and aligned with a people-focused culture
Location & Working Pattern
- Full-time role (office hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:15pm)
- Part-time applications considered
- Based primarily in Thornbury, with flexibility to work from other Bristol offices if preferred
- Hybrid working available post-probation
