TSR Legal are currently working with a specialist law firm based in Bridgend, who are looking to recruit a Solicitor to join the Landlord and Tenant department. This is an excellent opportunity for a legal professional with litigation experience and an interest in housing law to work with a diverse client base across Wales. The successful candidate will provide high-quality legal advice and representation on a broad range of housing law and housing management matters. You will act for registered social landlords, local authorities, housing associations, and private landlords, delivering practical, solution-focused advice tailored to operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise and represent clients on housing management matters, including:
- Possession claims and tenancy enforcement
- Anti-social behaviour matters (including injunctions and committal proceedings)
- Disrepair claims and property condition disputes
- Service charge disputes and rent arrears
- Succession rights and tenancy variations
- Manage cases from initial instruction through to conclusion, including advocacy in court.
- Provide clear, commercially focused and timely legal advice.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of housing law, including Welsh housing legislation and devolved regulatory requirements.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, delivering a consistently high standard of service.
Skills & Experience Required
- Qualified Solicitor with a current practising certificate in England & Wales.
- Litigation experience (essential).
- Knowledge and practical experience of housing law and housing management matters (desirable), ideally with exposure to Welsh housing legislation.
- Experience in advocacy and case management.
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage a varied caseload efficiently with excellent attention to detail.
- Client-focused, proactive, and commercially aware.
