TSR Legal currently have an exciting opportunity for a Solicitor to join a growing Social Housing team in Birmingham. Working alongside an experienced Partner, you will advise clients on a broad range of housing management matters. Key Responsibilities
- Manage a varied caseload of social housing litigation and advisory matters.
- Handle possession proceedings, including cases involving anti-social behaviour, rent arrears, unlawful subletting, succession disputes and trespass.
- Obtain injunctions relating to tenancy breaches, anti-social behaviour and property access for safety compliance.
- Advise on housing conditions and disrepair claims, including defending counterclaims and pre‑action protocol matters.
- Provide advice on tenancy management issues, including succession, assignment, relationship breakdown and matters involving mental capacity.
- Apply relevant housing legislation, equality law and human rights legislation to deliver practical legal advice.
- Assist with drafting and reviewing policies, tenancy agreements and operational guidance for Registered Providers.
- Develop advocacy skills by representing clients in routine County Court hearings and applications.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Qualified Solicitor status with 1+ PQE post-qualification experience.
- Experience, or strong exposure, to housing litigation or a related area of law.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex legal issues clearly and practically.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied caseload.
- An interest in advocacy and developing court experience.
- A collaborative approach and a commitment to delivering excellent client service.
