TSR Legal is supporting a highly regarded national law firm with the appointment of an experienced Associate/Senior Associate to join their Birmingham office in the employment law division. This is an excellent opportunity for an Employment Lawyer looking to join a well-established team with a strong reputation in the market. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced partners and colleagues across a national Employment & HR practice, advising a broad range of clients on complex and high-quality matters.
The Role
- Managing a broad employment caseload, including complex and high-value Tribunal claims
- Advising clients on day-to-day employment issues, including disciplinary and grievance processes, redundancies and discrimination matters
- Handling employment disputes from initial advice through to final hearing
- Managing litigation processes, including directions, disclosure exercises and witness statement preparation
- Drafting and advising on employment contracts, policies, handbooks and settlement agreements
- Supporting corporate transactions and providing employment input where required
- Advising on employment-related data protection matters

About the Team
You will join a national Employment & HR team that works with a wide range of corporate clients, providing practical and commercially focused advice across the full spectrum of employment law. The team operates with a flexible hybrid approach, allowing individuals to balance office-based collaboration with focused home working. The Birmingham office is supported by colleagues across several UK locations, providing access to a strong network of expertise and resources.
About You
This opportunity would suit an Employment Lawyer with approximately 4+ yearsβ PQE who has:
- Strong experience advising employers on a wide range of employment law matters
- Significant experience handling Employment Tribunal claims from inception through to final hearing
- Experience managing complex litigation processes, including disclosure and witness preparation
- Confidence advising on disciplinary, grievance, redundancy and discrimination matters
- Experience preparing employment contracts, policies, handbooks and settlement agreements
- Strong drafting, research and advisory skills
- A practical, commercially minded approach with excellent client care skills
- An interest in business development and supporting the continued growth of the practice
- Experience in non-contentious employment work and corporate support would be advantageous, although support and development will be available in these areas.
