We are looking for a Finance Assistant to support the finance function within a specialist law practice. This role is suited to someone who is organised, numerate and keen to develop their finance experience within a professional services environment. You will work closely with the wider team to ensure financial information is accurate, up to date and handled confidentially. Key responsibilities Assist with day-to-day finance administration. Process invoices, payments and receipts. Maintain accurate financial records. Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable. Reconcile bank and other financial transactions. Monitor outstanding invoices and payments. Assist with client account administration where required. Prepare basic financial reports and spreadsheets. Enter and maintain financial data accurately. Assist with month-end processes. Deal with routine finance queries from colleagues and clients. File and maintain financial documentation. Support the wider finance team with general administrative tasks. About you We are looking for someone who is: Numerate and comfortable working with figures. Highly organised and able to manage their workload. Accurate and detail-focused. Comfortable using Excel and Microsoft Office. A good communicator. Reliable and willing to learn. Professional and approachable. Able to handle confidential information appropriately. Previous finance or accounts experience would be essential. Skills and experience Previous experience in a finance, accounts or administration role. Basic understanding of bookkeeping or accounting principles. Experience using Excel. Experience with accounting or practice management software. AAT study or another relevant finance qualification. What we are looking for The most important qualities are accuracy, organisation and a willingness to learn. You do not need to know everything from day one. We are looking for someone who wants to build their finance skills, take responsibility and develop within the role.
