The Role

As a Legal Secretary, you'll play a key role in supporting a team of fee earners, ensuring they can provide an exceptional service to clients. You'll be responsible for managing diaries, coordinating meetings, preparing legal documentation and providing proactive day-to-day secretarial support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing busy diaries, arranging meetings, conference and video calls
  • Monitoring emails during fee earner absences and responding where appropriate
  • Booking travel arrangements and preparing itineraries
  • Handling telephone calls professionally and taking accurate messages
  • Formatting and amending legal documents and correspondence
  • Copy typing and digital dictation
  • Converting documents between Word and PDF
  • Preparing files and collating legal documentation
  • Proofreading documents to ensure exceptional accuracy
  • Assisting with PowerPoint presentations and general correspondence
  • Processing expenses and supporting internal administrative processes
  • Working closely with business development, finance and marketing teams when required

About You

We're looking for someone who enjoys providing high-quality support and thrives in a busy legal environment. You'll ideally have:

  • Previous Legal Secretary or Legal PA experience within a law firm or professional services environment
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Accurate typing and document formatting abilities
  • Outstanding communication and client care skills
  • The ability to prioritise workloads and work proactively using your own initiative
  • A collaborative and professional approach with a keen eye for detail
