About the Role
TSR Legal is working with one of the most established regional law firms in Wiltshire as it continues to strengthen its highly regarded Private Client department. The successful lawyer will join a large and established Private Client practice advising individuals, families, business owners and high-net-worth clients on succession and estate planning matters. The position offers a broad caseload with access to experienced colleagues and the opportunity to develop towards more technically complex work.
About the Firm
The firm has a history stretching back more than a century and now operates through a substantial network of offices across Wiltshire. It employs between 50 and 200 people and provides a wide range of private client and commercial legal services. Its Private Client department is already successful and nationally recognised, with continued growth creating the need for additional lawyers. The wider firm combines the resources and breadth of a sizeable regional practice with strong local client relationships.
The role will involve:
- Drafting Wills
- Probate and estate administration
- Complex and taxable estates
- Lasting Powers of Attorney
- Trust creation and administration
- Inheritance Tax and succession planning
- Advising elderly and vulnerable clients
- Managing your own caseload
- Working closely with other departments on cross-referrals
- Building relationships with accountants and financial advisers
- Supporting the continued growth of the department
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Be a qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive
- Have previous Private Client experience
- Be comfortable managing your own caseload
- Have excellent communication and client care skills
- Have strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- STEP membership or progression towards STEP would be advantageous but is not essential
