A leading UK law firm in Bristol is seeking a Solicitor to join its Private Law Children and Domestic Abuse team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced family law solicitor or legal executive to join a highly regarded practice with a strong reputation for client care and technical excellence.
The Role
The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload of privately and legal aid funded matters, with a particular focus on private law children and domestic abuse work. You will deliver high-quality legal advice in a commercially aware and empathetic manner, ensuring exceptional client service at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of family law matters efficiently and effectively
- Provide clear, pragmatic advice to clients, managing expectations regarding outcomes, risk, and timescales
- Scope and manage fees for existing clients
- Demonstrate strong market and sector knowledge, building your expertise within family law
- Assist in developing and maintaining a strong risk management culture within the team
- Build and maintain internal and external client and intermediary networks
- Contribute to business development by attending networking events, writing articles, and speaking at seminars
- Support with departmental pitches and marketing initiatives
- Supervise and mentor junior team members as required
- Meet individual performance targets and KPIs
- Support budgetary management of client matters
Key Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with proven experience in private law children and domestic abuse work
- Experience handling both legal aid and privately funded cases
- Strong client relationship management skills with a focus on delivering outstanding service
- Commercial awareness and the ability to contribute to business development
- Ability to manage own workload and delegate effectively
- Experience supervising or mentoring junior lawyers (desirable)
