Job Description: The purpose of this role is to support the Team Leader with the manufacturing unit in achieving plant operational targets, product quality, customer service and health & safety objectives. Set/operate a variety of CNC milling machines working on heavy steel work. Contribute to initiatives related to improving health and safety performance, taking an active part in risk assessment/hazard identification for all operational activities and taking account of appropriate COMAH regulations. Participate in team activities, utilising appropriate process, technical and engineering skills to achieve manufacturing, quality and service targets. Actively contribute to all team activities aimed at improving plant performance through implementation of continuous improvement, problem solving, team building and personal self-development. Suggest improvements to plant, process and operating procedures. React to process, engineering, quality and safety issues as they arise and utilise the knowledge, experience and skills of own and other team members to initiate corrective action. Operate flexibly and safely within the team carrying out activities under the direction of the team leader within area of competence, capability and training.

Qualifications: Relevant time served qualification in CNC and Manual Machining (or minimum level 3 with 3 years shop floor experience) - essential. Interpretation of basic CNC machine code and programme - essential. Drawing interpretation including basic machining tolerances and surface finishing - essential. Machine Tool Setting - essential. Basic understanding of machine mechanics - essential. Knowledge of quality assurance requirements and procedures - essential. Understanding of production costs to include waste, downtime, scrap and re-work - essential. Heavy engineering experience - desirable. Ability to use basic inspection measuring tools - essential.

Additional Information: TSP is an established company with a good pipeline of orders. TSP re-invests in their people. Salary – Competitive. Paid Breaks. Mon - Fri (Early finish Friday). 35 days holiday (including BH). Pension – 6%.
