Service Engineer Automatic Doors North East covering Newcastle upon Tyne, Sunderland, Durham, Gateshead, Washington and surrounding areas.

£15.00 - £18.50 per hour (DOE) + overtime + on-call. 40 hours per week | Full-time | Permanent.

About the Role

TSM Technical is recruiting on behalf of a leading UK manufacturer and service provider of automatic pedestrian door systems and aluminium shopfronts. Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Automatic Door Service Engineer to join their expanding team covering the wider North East region.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys variety, working across service, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of automatic door systems. Full training and ongoing development support will be provided.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Carrying out service, maintenance, and repairs on automatic door systems.
  • Responding to reactive call-outs, scheduled servicing, and planned maintenance.
  • Occasionally assisting with installation projects when required.
  • Liaising with the office daily for scheduling and completing electronic job reports.
  • Delivering excellent customer service while working independently or as part of a team.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience servicing and maintaining automatic doors.
  • BS7036 / EN16005 certification (essential).
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Flexible, enthusiastic, and team-focused approach.
  • Willingness to undergo a DBS check.

Pay & Hours

  • £15.00 - £18.50 per hour (depending on experience).
  • 40-hour working week.
  • Door-to-door pay.
  • On-call allowance: £270 per week.
  • Call-out hours paid at 1.5x standard rate.
  • Overtime paid at 1.5x.
  • Monthly efficiency bonus up to £6,000 per annum.
