Main Duties and Responsibilities for the Sustainability Coordinator:
- Conducting and coordinating site surveys and impact assessments for new construction projects
- Undertake construction site inspections and work with project teams to maintain operational compliance and deliver construction aligned with company procedures and plans
- Drafting site project environmental and sustainability documentation such as construction environment management plans, local value needs assessments and pollution incident response plans
- Assist in obtaining and collating evidence for relevant sustainability certifications and accreditations for projects, such as LEED, BREEAM, or equivalent
- Support project teams preparing for and facilitating Considerate Constructor Scheme visits
- Support project teams in understanding sustainability certification requirements and achieving their targeted credits
- Work with supply chain partners to communicate project sustainability requirements and promote continual improvement
- Supports the Head of ESG to deliver on corporate sustainability objectives
- Working collaboratively with specialists across the business to deliver initiatives and new ideas as part of continual improvement
- Compiles data and prepares internal and external reports
- Co-ordinates cost benefit analysis and prepare business cases for sustainability improvements
- Develop, communicate, and promote best practice examples from the business
- Develop learning resources and materials to improve the culture and awareness for environment and sustainability
Skills and Experience Required for the Sustainability Coordinator:
- Competent with Microsoft Office packages; Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Experience using construction management software
- Proficiency in using sustainability assessment and / or data reporting tools and software
- Clear, effective verbal communicator
- Must hold a driving licence applicable for region / country of the role origin
- A member (any status) of a professional body linked to ESG or environment such as IEMA or IESA full or chartered member of a professional ESG or environmental body
