We pride ourselves on the high quality of our services and the equipment that we offer our customers. Due to continued growth, we are now looking for a Warehouse Department Manager.
In this role, the primary focus is managing inbound operations, as the timely inspection, servicing, testing, and processing of returned equipment are vital to maintaining efficient workflows. Leading a dedicated team, you will oversee the preparation, testing, presentation, and packing of all equipment, including power cables, signal and data cabling, cable looms, power distribution systems, connectors, and related accessories.
Key Responsibilities
- People Management: Provide direct line management to warehouse staff within the cable department, managing workloads, identifying training needs and updating departmental training matrices. Lead internal on-the-job training and support external training where appropriate. Motivate and support team members in achieving both individual and departmental goals.
- Cable Equipment & Operations Management: Supervise and participate in the preparation, servicing, and maintenance of all cable equipment, including power cables, data and signal cables, multicore, looms and connectors. Ensuring that all equipment is correctly configured, clean tested and labelled. Oversee the safe and efficient maintenance, fault-finding, and repair of cable. Implement and maintain departmental quality control standards and document preparation procedures. Maintain accurate stock levels for spare parts, consumables, and specialist cable tools. Perform thorough check-outs and check-ins of orders, overseeing the safe loading and unloading of equipment. Ownership of departmental stock take, ensuring records are accurate and up to date. Manage the safe and consistent integration of new cable.
Skills and Qualities required:
- Proven experience in managing or supervising a technical team, ideally within a warehouse or rental environment.
- Strong knowledge of cabling systems used in live events, including power distribution (single and three-phase), data and signal cabling, multicore, and associated equipment.
- Familiarity with industry standards for the construction, labelling, and safe rigging of cable.
- Ability to diagnose faults and oversee maintenance and repair of cable and connector equipment.
- Experience with PAT testing and electrical safety procedures is beneficial.
- Effective communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
- IT literacy, including working knowledge of Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.
