This is not a general warehouse role. You will be a key part of the team that prepares professional lighting equipment for some of the biggest shows and events in the UK and Europe. TSL's lighting stock spans moving intelligent fixtures, static intelligent fixtures, outdoor lighting, and effects. In practice, that means you could be working on anything from moving profile and wash fixtures through to static LED battens, battery powered wireless fixtures, LED panels, and conventional fresnels and profiles. Each fixture has its own menu system, modes, and configuration requirements, and every one must leave the building fully tested, correctly configured, and immaculately presented. That responsibility sits with you and your team.

Your day will typically revolve around preparing orders for upcoming jobs. That means working through a list of equipment and getting each item show-ready before it is handed over to the dispatch team or show crews for loading and delivery. In practice, a typical day looks something like this:

  • Cleaning and inspecting fixtures: Every fixture is cleaned inside and out before it goes on a job. You will wipe down bodies, clean lenses, and check for any physical damage. At TSL, the condition of our equipment is something we take real pride in; a dirty or scruffy fixture is not acceptable.
  • Testing: Each fixture is powered up and tested to make sure it is fully operational. You will check that all the functions work as they should – movement, colours, effects - and flag anything that needs attention.
  • Mode setting and patching: Most lighting fixtures need to be configured for the specific job they are going out on. This involves setting the correct operating mode and DMX address using the fixture’s built-in menu. Training will be provided.
  • Scanning and asset tracking: Every item is tracked through TSL’s rental system using barcode or RFID scanners. You will be responsible for scanning equipment onto job lists accurately, ensuring our stock records are up to date and nothing leaves without being accounted for.
  • Packaging and labelling: Once a fixture is prepped, it is packed into the correct flight case, labelled up for the job, and passed to the dispatch team. Getting this right matters: the right kit, in the right case, with the right label, ready to go.
  • Checking in returned equipment: When equipment comes back from a job, you will test it, inspect it for damage, and return it back to TSL's default standard. The returned kit goes straight back into the prep cycle, so the quality of this process directly affects the efficiency of preparing the next job.
  • Keeping the warehouse clean and organised: A tidy workspace is a safe and efficient workspace. Keeping your area clean, cases stored correctly, and stock in the right place is part of the job every day.
  • Supporting the wider team: The warehouse is a collaborative environment. You may be asked to assist other departments during busy periods, and we encourage everyone to get involved and learn as much as they can about how the business operates.

What skills do I need? You do not need to come from a lighting or events background; we will train you on the technical side. What we cannot train is the right attitude. If you are someone who takes pride in doing things properly and cares about the quality of their work, you will fit right in.

  • Attention to detail: The standard of our equipment is a point of real pride at TSL. You need to be someone who notices when something is not quite right and takes the time to fix it, rather than passing the problem on.
  • Practical and methodical: A lot of this job is about working through a process carefully and consistently. You need to be comfortable following instructions, using basic tools and test equipment, and working at a steady pace without cutting corners.
  • A team player: The Lighting team works closely together, and the handoff between prep and dispatch relies on clear communication and strict following of process. You need to be someone your colleagues can count on.
  • Flexible and reliable: The live events industry moves fast. Workloads shift, deadlines are tight, and busy show periods can be demanding. We need people who are adaptable and show up ready to work.

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Previous experience with professional lighting or other technical event equipment.
  • Electrical or electronics knowledge or qualifications.
  • A valid forklift truck licence (training available for the right candidate).
  • Experience in a warehouse, rental house, or live events environment.
  • A genuine interest in or passion for the live events and entertainment industry.

What can we offer you?

  • The chance to work with world-class equipment on some of the most exciting events in the UK and Europe.
  • Training and development to grow your technical knowledge and skills.
  • Cycle to work scheme.
  • Access to online training portal.
  • Company pension.
  • Most importantly, the chance to be part of an awesome team!
