As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for supervising and leading a team of Senior Warehouse Technicians and Warehouse Technicians within the department.

You will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient operations, maintaining high quality standards, and supporting the Department Manager in strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and motivate the team to achieve operational goals and deadlines.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership qualities, such as accountability, integrity, and a positive attitude. This will inspire your team and set a positive example for the department.
  • Delegate tasks effectively and provide clear guidance and support.
  • Ensure staff are aware of and have access to all relevant information relating to their assigned tasks.
  • Provide performance feedback to the Department Manager prior to team 1:1 catch-ups.
  • Identify training needs and report these to the Department Manager.
  • Supervise staff to ensure that all work areas are kept clean, tidy and efficiently organised.
  • In the Absence of the Department Manager
  • Assume responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the department.
  • Make critical decisions and solve problems independently.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure a smooth workflow.
  • Attend Head of Department meetings in the absence of the Department Manager.
  • Operational Excellence
  • Support the daily operations of the department, including receiving, storing and shipping equipment.
  • Ensure adherence to quality control standards and procedures, including checking prepped equipment before it leaves the department for dispatch.
  • Check in equipment returned from hire against the computer system, logging and reporting any shortages or damages.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate delivery to the Technical Services team as required.
  • Customer Service
  • Interact with freelancers and customers in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Resolve customer enquiries and complaints promptly and efficiently.
  • Departmental Support
  • Assist the Department Manager in developing and implementing departmental changes and improvements.
  • Communicate any operational issues to the Department Manager and resolve them where possible.
  • Health and Safety
  • Take an active role in department meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and implement corrective actions where required.
  • Promote a safe working environment and encourage safe working practices.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.
  • Proven strong leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Good IT knowledge, preferably with a working knowledge of Google Drive.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Representing the Company / Supervising Employees
  • This role involves dealing with employees and customers of the company.
