Overview
Trainee Service Desk Consultant (12 Month Fixed Term) – TSG Academy, Newcastle Upon Tyne, United Kingdom. This 12-month fixed term role provides structured on-the-job training to become a technical expert within the Service Desk Team. After completing the initial term, and meeting required criteria, you may progress into a permanent Service Desk role with a salary increase to 28k + bonus. You will resolve 2nd line technical issues such as network and server issues, Azure, end user, and backup issues, both over the telephone and face to face on-site at customers’ premises.
This is a long-term customer-facing role with a development plan including on-the-job training, industry recognised certifications, self-study, and mentorship from highly skilled team members. The position is based in our Team Valley office in Newcastle upon Tyne. Please note that sponsorship requirements will affect suitability for this role.
Responsibilities
- Resolve 2nd line technical issues (network, server, Azure, end-user, backups) over the phone and on-site at customer premises.
- Work within the Service Desk Team and progress through a structured training programme.
- Contribute to incident resolution and service continuity as part of a customer-facing team.
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills and customer-focused approach.
- Self-starter with willingness to learn and a confident problem-solver.
- Experience in one of the following is essential:
- Service desk or internal IT environment
- Recent graduation or technical qualification/apprenticeship
- Some customer service experience in addition to the above
