The ICP Project Manager is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of electrical infrastructure projects within an Independent Connection Provider (ICP) environment. The role is accountable for managing projects from initial acceptance through to construction, energisation, and final handover, ensuring delivery is safe, compliant, on time, within budget, and to the required standards.

What you'll do
- You will act as the primary point of contact for clients, Distribution Network Operators (DNOs), Independent Distribution Network Operators (IDNOs), contractors, and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- This is a high throughput role where you will coordinate multidisciplinary teams and manage commercial, technical, operational, and regulatory requirements.
- The role requires strong leadership, stakeholder management, and project delivery skills, with a focus on maintaining high standards of safety, customer service, and financial performance whilst driving successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the successful delivery of multiple ICP projects from inception to completion.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality management requirements.
- Develop, monitor, and maintain project programmes, budgets, and resource plans.
- Act as the primary customer interface, managing client expectations and maintaining strong relationships.
- Coordinate design, procurement, commercial and construction activities.
- Liaise with DNOs, IDNOs, local authorities, and other statutory bodies to secure approvals and project milestones.
- Identify, assess, and manage project risks, issues, and opportunities.
- Monitor project financial performance, including cost control, forecasting, and change management.
- Prepare and present project reports, updates, and performance metrics to senior management and stakeholders.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of project delivery best practices.
About You
You will have proven experience managing electrical infrastructure, utilities, or ICP projects, with a strong understanding of project management methodologies and delivery processes. The following skills and attributes will set you up for success:
Essential Skills & Experience
- Experience managing project budgets, commercial performance, and cost control.
- Demonstrable understanding of health and safety legislation and CDM requirements.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and construction documentation.
- Experience managing contractors, subcontractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent stakeholder management and client relationship skills.
- Strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software.
Desirable skills and experience
- Degree or higher qualification in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Formal project management qualification (PRINCE2, APM PMQ, PMP, or equivalent).
- Knowledge of UK electrical distribution networks, connection processes, and industry standards.
- Experience working with DNOs, IDNOs, and National Grid requirements.
- Knowledge of HV and LV electrical distribution systems.
- Understanding of G81 design and adoption standards.
- Commercial and contractual management experience.
- Knowledge of utility asset adoption processes.
- Membership of a relevant professional body (APM, IET, ICE, or equivalent).

Compensation & Benefits
Compensation: Salary: £50,000 - £60,000
