The opportunity
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual with good communication skills and a strong scientific approach to join our Compliance, Stewardship and Sustainability team in any of our UK offices, in Knaresborough, Epsom or Harston. You will be responsible for and contribute to a range of regulatory projects – from Consortium Management to REACH registrations, evaluations, authorisations and restrictions, and to emerging issues and policy. You will be someone with the skills and aptitude to deliver strong project management and technical services for our portfolio of consortia Clients.
About you
You will be a self-starter with a strong commitment to delivering high quality work that exceeds clients’ expectations and high standards for professional behaviour. You should be able to adapt and keep pace with regulatory developments and enjoy solving complex problems, along with being organised and responsive.
You will be able to confidently and clearly communicate with clients to identify their needs and provide advice, with the ability to be flexible, think strategically as well as accepting and working with change. You will also effectively build working relationships with colleagues and external contacts to promote the company’s expertise. Regular travel to the main office in Knaresborough and occasional travel to attend meetings will be required. From time to time the role will require travel both within the UK and abroad for client meetings and on-going project management.
Key responsibilities
- Project Management - You will engage clients to successfully deliver a range of project objectives and requirements.
- Consultancy - You will advise on strategy, science and regulatory issues, and provide guidance and direction to clients to help meet their requirements.
- Provide support to business development activities e.g. attending client meetings and developing proposals.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Degree or equivalent in a relevant scientific discipline
- Previous experience in a relevant regulatory, scientific or research environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication and organization/analytical skills
- Ability to plan workload effectively and react appropriately to situations as they arise
- The ability to work well under pressure both independently and as part of the team
- Previous experience of managing Consortia or REACH projects is desirable
- Strong IT skills
