Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To complete EICR’s as well as reactive repairs, maintenance and installations of all relevant electrical equipment within public buildings in accordance with manufacturers' instructions and guidance and replace where necessary.
  • To diagnose and/or fault-find all breakdowns as quickly and efficiently as possible.
  • To provide "out of hours" cover when required and ensure all out of hours call-outs are completed as efficiently as possible.
  • To cause minimum disruption to tenants/other workers and to respect the building and/or property whilst working.
  • To liaise with the contract administrators and other office staff, ensuring you are aware of which jobs are required for specific days.
  • To ensure relevant stock is maintained and topped up in the van provided.
  • When necessary, to check all material required for a particular job is available.
  • To ensure all paperwork required for each job is filled in correctly and accurately in accordance with data protection regulations and handed to relevant administrator.
  • To effectively communicate with customers and colleagues at all levels.
  • To help out with other contracts when colleagues are busy or absent, you are expected to be as flexible as possible.
  • To undertake training and attend training courses as required.
  • To assist in the training of apprentices as and when appropriate.
  • To ensure all Health & Safety standards set by the company and other relevant bodies are adhered to at all times and that all work is carried out within current statutory regulations.
  • To wear protective clothing and equipment as issued when necessary.
  • To ensure the cleanliness of the company vehicle.
  • To ensure the security and correct operation of equipment supplied, i.e. Tools, vehicles, mobile phones etc.
  • To ensure your timesheets are filled out correctly, on a daily/weekly basis and signed off by the relevant person.
  • To act in a polite and professional manner at all times especially when dealing with members of the public.
  • To work overtime as can be reasonably required.
