As a Part-Time Host, you will be the first and last impression of our restaurant - setting the tone for an unforgettable guest experience from the moment they walk in.
KEY OBJECTIVES
- Create a welcoming, energetic first impression for every guest
- Manage bookings, calls, and walk-ins with confidence and efficiency
- Help maintain a smooth flow of service and a vibrant atmosphere
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
I. Guest Experience & First Impressions
- Warmly greet and seat guests, creating an immediate sense of hospitality
- Manage reservations, waitlists, and walk-ins effectively
- Answer phones and handle guest inquiries with professionalism and personality
- Keep guests informed on wait times and ensure a seamless arrival experience
- Capture and record guest preferences and key data to personalise future visits
- Handle guest feedback with care and professionalism
II. Floor Flow & Coordination
- Work closely with the floor and management team to manage table allocation
- Liaise with management and the Head of Events & Sales to coordinate large bookings and special requests
- Monitor service flow and pacing to optimise covers and guest experience
- Support the team during busy periods to ensure smooth operations
III. Communication & Teamwork
- Maintain clear communication with servers, kitchen, and management
- Manage booking systems and ensure all guest notes and details are accurately recorded
- Support teammates wherever needed to keep service running smoothly
IV. Standards & Presentation
- Maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming host stand and entrance
- Ensure menus, booking systems, and guest notes are always up to date
- Uphold all company standards, health & safety, and brand values
REQUIREMENTS
- Previous experience as a host or in a guest-facing role preferred
- Experience with OpenTable or a similar booking system is essential
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- A naturally warm, confident, and guest-focused personality
