The role involves 24/7 monitoring our core business services through industry leading toolsets and the ongoing development of these to ensure that service observability is maximised and continually improved. Inquisitive, problem-solving skills are required as the role involves the triage and reaction to anomalies within our technology to ensure applications, systems, infrastructure & services remain available to our customers and colleagues.
You will be a part of a dedicated team of IT Operations Analysts & Snr Analysts who minimise the impact of incidents on business operations and maintain high service availability and performance standards in line with our objectives. The role involves engagement at all levels within TSB, both IT and business, as well as with our IT suppliers so excellent communications & relationship management skills are key. You’ll live near our office in Edinburgh and the shifts are 7pm-7am Monday to Friday with some weekend work. You will typically work around 3-4 shifts per week. An example of a rota can be shared prior to interview.
What You’ll Bring (Qualifications)
- Ideally some experience with various technology monitoring including application services, microservices, infrastructure, middleware, networking & mainframe batch.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities to address incidents and service situations of varying complexity.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with stakeholders and coordinate technical recovery teams.
- Proficiency in ITIL service operation processes, particularly operations, incident and problem management, but not essential.
- Understanding of IT operations and infrastructure, including network, server, and application layers (beneficial).
- Knowledge of change management processes to minimise the risk of incident recurrence (beneficial).
- Previous technical exposure to banking related services (e.g. digital banking, ATM, Mainframe, distributed applications, citrix and payments) (beneficial).
