The CIO Controls Assistant Manager within Technology Risk plays a pivotal role in ensuring IT controls are effectively designed and implemented across the Chief Information Office (CIO), and TSB meets associated Legal, Regulatory and Mandatory requirements.

The role will help shape the IT control framework, and work with key stakeholders across CIO to ensure controls are rolled out and ensure gaps in the framework are remediated. Third party assurance plays a key role in the framework, and the role will help scope and assess assurance reports provided by key third parties.

Operating with support, the role manages the day-to-day interaction with external auditors, and the tracking / reporting associated with their data requests. A strong role holder will make a significant difference by driving control remediation, providing clear risk insight, coordinating CIO responses to external requests, and ensuring issues are addressed promptly, with appropriate escalation and strong follow through.

What you’ll bring:

  • Experience designing, implementing and testing IT SOx controls, ideally within a banking environment
  • Strong background in IT General Controls (ITGCs) and third-party assurance (SOC1 T2)
  • Understanding of SOx requirements and IT control frameworks (NIST, ISO, ITIL, COBIT)
  • Experience managing the engagement with external IT audit, and associated tracking / reporting
  • Expertise across IT domains (Technology, Change, Data, Cyber, Supplier) providing authoritative first line guidance, challenge and delivery
  • Strong stakeholder influence skills, providing expert risk based insight and constructive challenge to Application / Control / Standard / Policy / Risk owners
  • Certifications from ISACA (CISA, CISM, CRISC) or ISC2 (CISSP) would be an advantage
