Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities? Due to an internal promotion, Cedar Children’s Academy are seeking a dedicated Class Teacher who also has experience as a SENCO, or has started training to become a SENCO, to join our supportive team. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping and delivering our SEND provision, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
About the Role
- Determine and lead the strategic development of our SEND policy and provision, ensuring that it meets the diverse needs of our students.
- Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and staff to ensure the best possible outcomes for students with SEND.
- Take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the SEND policy, coordinating tailored support for individual students with special educational needs or disabilities.
- Provide professional guidance to colleagues, and work closely with staff, parents/carers, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to SEND support.
- Ensure that we are fully compliant with the SEND Code of Practice and deliver the highest standards of SEND provision.
- Act as the Designated Teacher for Children in Care (CiC) and previous Children in Care, ensuring their educational needs are met and their progress is tracked.
