Are you ready for a fulfilling role that combines challenge, impact, and community engagement? As a school governor, you’ll play a pivotal part in shaping the educational landscape in your local community.
Being a Parent Governor is a rewarding opportunity to play an active role in the strategic leadership of the school. Governors work alongside school leaders and the Thinking Schools Academy Trust to help shape the school's future, support improvement and ensure that our pupils receive the very best education possible.
You do not need to be an education expert to become a governor. We are looking for people who:
- Have an interest in transforming the life chances of our young people.
- Can work as part of a team.
- Are willing to ask questions and provide constructive challenge.
- Can commit to attending six governor meetings each year.
- Training and ongoing support will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity to develop new skills whilst contributing to the school community.
Other Reasons to Consider Being a Governor:
- Rewarding Experience: Few roles offer such a sense of fulfilment. Witness the impact of your contributions firsthand.
- Professional Growth: Develop skills beyond the classroom. Network with like-minded professionals and broaden your horizons.
- Community Integration: Become an integral part of the wider community, fostering connections that go beyond the school gates.
Parent Governors play a vital role in ensuring that the views of parents and carers are represented within the governing board, whilst acting in the best interests of the school as a whole.
