Due to internal promotion and as a result of expansion of our support team of Learning Support Assistants, we are seeking individuals who would like to specialise. The primary purpose of this role will be to support pupils across all key stages (mainstream and specialist resource provision) with reading and literacy development. Due to the nature of the role, a patient, caring and compassionate approach is needed. This post is suitable if you are looking to build your experience working with SEND pupils, but also current Teaching Assistants who are willing to undertake training and development related to the role.

Responsibilities:

  • Have experience supporting learning in the classroom (primary or secondary).
  • Assist in the promotion of high standards of behaviour and conduct.
  • Be a team player with great communication and organisational skills.
  • Support colleagues as directed in all aspects of learning, personal development and emotional literacy.
  • Work calmly under pressure and adapt quickly and effectively to changing circumstances.
