About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Junior Barrister (2 Years PQE) to join our in-house legal team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Barrister with civil litigation experience to develop their advocacy, case preparation and client management skills while working on a varied and challenging caseload.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing civil litigation matters, conducting legal research, preparing court documents, representing clients at hearings, providing legal advice, and maintaining strong client relationships.
The role offers a combination of office-based work, remote working, court attendance and client meetings.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a diverse caseload of civil litigation matters from inception to conclusion.
- Conduct legal research and provide accurate, practical and strategic legal advice.
- Prepare pleadings, witness statements, applications, skeleton arguments, court bundles and other legal documentation.
- Analyse evidence, case law and legal issues to support case strategy and litigation objectives.
- Represent clients at court hearings, case management conferences, interim applications and other proceedings where appropriate.
- Deliver effective advocacy and present legal arguments before courts and tribunals.
- Attend client meetings, conferences and consultations, providing clear and professional legal guidance.
- Maintain regular communication with clients, keeping them informed of case developments and potential outcomes.
- Liaise with counsel, experts, court officials and other legal professionals.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable procedural rules, court directions and professional obligations.
- Support senior legal colleagues on complex and high-value litigation matters.
Requirements
- Qualified Barrister in England and Wales.
- Approximately 2 years' post-qualification experience.
- Experience in civil litigation.
- Strong advocacy, legal research and drafting skills.
- Excellent communication and client care abilities.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently.
- Strong organisational and analytical skills.
- Right to work in the United Kingdom.
