We are seeking an experienced DFG Surveyor to join our housing adaptations team, delivering essential home modification works funded through the Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) scheme. You will play a key role in enabling residents with disabilities to live safely and independently in their homes by assessing, designing, and delivering suitable adaptations in partnership with Occupational Therapists and contractors.
Location: Colchester / Hybrid / Site-based across local authority area
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 (DOE)
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out detailed home surveys to assess suitability for adaptations
- Work closely with Occupational Therapists (OTs) to determine client requirements
- Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and schedules of work
- Produce accurate cost estimates and feasibility assessments
- Manage DFG cases from initial assessment through to completion
- Oversee contractors and ensure works are delivered to specification
- Conduct site inspections, quality checks, and progress monitoring
- Ensure compliance with Building Regulations (Part M) and health
