The Opportunity
TSA Surveying is exclusively partnering with a high-performing, Chartered property consultancy to appoint a Senior Chartered Building Surveyor into their London and South East team. This is a strategic hire into a growing business backed by a larger international group, offering the balance of specialist consultancy work with long-term stability and investment. The role is positioned for someone operating at, or close to, Associate level who wants more ownership, better quality work, and a clear progression route.
The Role
You will take ownership of complex residential and commercial instructions, acting as a trusted adviser to clients while leading projects from inception through to delivery. Work will span building pathology, major works, compliance reporting, and advisory instructions, with a strong focus on technical quality and commercial awareness. You will manage your own workload, lead projects, and support junior surveyors, with direct exposure to Directors and clients.
Key Focus
- Lead project and professional instructions across varied assets
- Act as Project Manager and Contract Administrator on schemes up to £3m+
- Deliver clear, commercially focused advice to clients
- Manage risk across contracts, compliance, and delivery
- Support and mentor junior surveyors and APC candidates
- Undertaking reinstatement cost assessments and pre-acquisition surveys
- Completing Building Height Surveys and Building Safety Act related reporting
- Preparing Schedules of Dilapidations and negotiating claims
- Acting as Principal Designer including PCI preparation and oversight of H&S documentation
- Monitoring development works on behalf of landlords, managing agents and funders
About You
- MRICS qualified with circa 2+ years PQE
- Strong technical grounding in building pathology and construction
- Proven experience delivering projects under JCT contracts
- Comfortable operating autonomously in a hybrid environment
- Ambitious and motivated by progression to Associate level
