We are working with a leading FM consultancy seeking an experienced PFI Consultant to join our team on a fixed-term contract, supporting a portfolio of operational Public Finance Initiative (PFI) projects across England. The role focuses on delivering Lenders Technical Advisory Services, including operational monitoring, lifecycle reviews and FM benchmarking across public sector assets such as schools, fire stations and care homes. This is a predominantly home-based role, with the majority of work involving desktop reviews and report writing. Travel to sites across England will be required for inspections, typically lasting 1β2 days, with occasional overnight stays.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver Lenders Technical Advisory Services on operational PFI projects.
- Undertake operational monitoring visits, inspecting assets and preparing technical reports.
- Review previous reports and challenge FM providers and SPVs on operational performance and contractual compliance.
- Carry out lifecycle fund reviews, assessing lifecycle planning, expenditure and future funding requirements.
- Conduct FM benchmarking exercises to evaluate service delivery and value against the wider market.
- Produce clear technical reports and recommendations for lenders.
Requirements
- Previous experience in Lenders Technical Advisory Services within the PFI/PPP sector.
- Strong understanding of operational PFI contracts and lifecycle management.
- Experience in operational monitoring, lifecycle reviews and technical reporting.
- Technical background in Building Surveying, Facilities Management, Building Services, Asset Management or a similar discipline.
- Excellent analytical and report writing skills.
- Willingness to travel across England for site inspections.
