Contract: Hybrid working (3 days in office with some UK travel)

We are working with a leading Facilities Management provider to recruit a Technical Strategy Manager for a major corporate estate across the UK and Ireland. This is a technical leadership role focused on driving technical excellence, asset lifecycle strategy, compliance, and engineering innovation across a large, complex portfolio. The successful candidate will support the Account leadership team and deputise for the Account Manager when required.

The Role

  • You will lead the engineering strategy across the estate, ensuring consistent technical standards, governance, compliance, and best practice delivery.
  • The role will focus heavily on asset lifecycle management, future-proofing M&E infrastructure, and improving engineering performance through SMART technologies and data-led decision making.
  • Working closely with operational teams, stakeholders, and the client, you will help shape the future engineering strategy of the estate while ensuring day-to-day technical delivery remains compliant, efficient, and commercially effective.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the engineering strategy across a large, multi-site corporate estate.
  • Drive engineering excellence, technical governance, and compliance across all M&E operations.
  • Take ownership of asset lifecycle planning, ensuring ageing infrastructure is effectively managed and future investment plans are aligned to business needs.
  • Utilise SMART technologies, BIM, dashboards, and Power BI reporting tools to support asset performance and long-term decision making.
  • Develop proactive maintenance strategies that improve reliability, minimise risk, and reduce operational disruption.
  • Conduct technical audits, assurance reviews, and compliance reporting to ensure statutory and contractual obligations are consistently achieved.
  • Support mobilisation activity, asset surveying programmes, and ongoing estate changes and upgrades.
  • Provide leadership and technical support to engineering teams across the account, helping drive performance, standards, and continuous improvement.
  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and act as a trusted, client-facing technical lead.
  • Support competency development, succession planning, and the ongoing growth of engineering capability across the team.

About You

  • Strong M&E background within Facilities Management or building services.
  • Experience leading engineering delivery across large, multi-site portfolios.
  • Strong understanding of compliance, asset management, and engineering governance.
  • Confident client-facing professional with excellent communication skills.
  • Forward-thinking approach with experience driving change and innovation.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Qualified in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering (or similar).
  • Chartered/Incorporated status desirable or working towards.
  • Membership of CIBSE, IMechE, IET, or similar professional body preferred.
  • Knowledge of ISO standards and technical compliance frameworks.
