TSA Surveying Ltd is an Employee-Owned recruitment business based in Leeds, specialising in the supply of Building Surveying, Clerk of Works, M&E Surveying, and Housing Surveying professionals across the UK. Since our inception in 2020, we have grown from 5 to 20 employees and now generate an annual turnover of £15m. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a hands-on Financial Controller to lead our finance function. Reporting to the Directors, you will oversee day-to-day finance operations, management reporting, credit control, statutory compliance, and provide the financial insight needed to support the next stage of our growth journey.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage timesheets, client approvals, temp payroll, invoicing, and vendor intermediary processes
  • Oversee banking, cash flow forecasting, reconciliations, and invoice finance facilities
  • Produce management accounts, P&L, balance sheet reporting, budgets, forecasts, and divisional MI
  • Manage credit control, aged debt, purchase ledger, accruals, prepayments, and journals
  • Prepare and submit VAT, PAYE, Corporation Tax, P11D, and PSA returns
  • Manage employee payroll, commissions, expenses, pensions, and benefits
  • Lead annual budgeting and financial planning processes
  • Act as key contact for banking, finance systems, credit insurance, and customer onboarding
  • Mentor and support two part-time Finance Assistants

Skills & Experience

  • Previous finance management experience, ideally within a temporary recruitment environment
  • Strong management accounting, payroll, and reporting expertise
  • Commercially minded with excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Advanced Excel skills and high attention to detail
  • Experience with Xero, InTime, and Bullhorn is advantageous
  • AAT qualification beneficial but not essential
  • Proactive, collaborative, and focused on continuous improvement
