We are seeking an experienced DFG Surveyor to join our housing adaptations team, delivering essential home modification works funded through the Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) scheme. You will play a key role in enabling residents with disabilities to live safely and independently in their homes by assessing, designing, and delivering suitable adaptations in partnership with Occupational Therapists and contractors.

Location: Colchester / Hybrid / Site-based across local authority area

Contract: Permanent

  • Carry out detailed home surveys to assess suitability for adaptations
  • Oversee contractors and ensure works are delivered to specification
  • Conduct site inspections, quality checks, and progress monitoring
  • Ensure compliance with Building Regulations (Part M) and health & safety standards
  • Liaise with residents, families, contractors, and council officers
  • Manage variations, valuations, and project documentation
  • Experience in building surveying, architecture, or construction management
  • Strong knowledge of domestic construction and accessibility standards
  • Understanding of Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) processes (preferred but not essential)
  • Ability to produce and interpret technical drawings (AutoCAD desirable)
  • Experience managing contractors and site works
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to site visits
  • Flexible / hybrid working arrangements
