Associate Director – Building Surveying, Bristol We are currently working with a leading multidisciplinary consultancy that is looking to appoint an experienced Associate Director to join and help grow their Building Surveying team in Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Building Surveyor who is looking to take a senior leadership position, combining technical delivery with team development, client management and business growth. You will play a key role in shaping the continued growth of the Building Surveying service, working closely with senior leadership and taking responsibility for a varied portfolio of professional and project-based work. The Role As Associate Director, you will: Lead and develop the Building Surveying team in Bristol, supporting high-quality service delivery across a diverse client base. Take an active role in business planning and the continued growth of the Building Surveying service. Work closely with senior leadership to identify and develop new business opportunities across the region. Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients. Lead business development activity, including contributing to and taking ownership of bids and tenders. Deliver and oversee a mixture of professional Building Surveying and project-based services. Support the development of processes, procedures and best practice across the Building Surveying team. Mentor and develop junior and senior members of the team, helping to create a high-performing and collaborative environment. Take an active role in the commercial management of the Building Surveying team, including WIP, invoicing, debtor management and cost control. Represent the Building Surveying team at client meetings and industry events. Contribute to the wider strategic development of the business and its service offering.About You We are looking for an experienced Building Surveyor who is ready to take the next step in their career or an established Associate Director looking for a new challenge. You will ideally: Be MRICS qualified. Have strong Building Surveying experience across both professional services and project work. Have experience managing client relationships and developing new business. Be commercially aware with an understanding of financial and operational performance. Have experience leading, mentoring or developing other Building Surveyors. Be confident preparing and contributing to bids and tenders. Have excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Be ambitious, proactive and keen to play a genuine role in growing a Building Surveying team.
