Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
We are currently working with a well-established organisation seeking a Building Surveyor to join their client-side property team, covering the Taunton, Bristol and wider South West area. This is a genuinely unique opportunity for a Building Surveyor looking to move into a client-side environment, offering the chance to work on a varied portfolio of interesting projects valued at up to £2m.
The Role
Working as part of an experienced property team, you will be involved across a broad range of Building Surveying and project-related activities, providing technical advice and supporting the delivery of projects from inception through to completion. Projects can range in value up to approximately £2m, providing exposure to a varied and interesting portfolio rather than being restricted to one particular project type. The role is predominantly home-based, with site visits and occasional travel required across the South West.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertaking a range of Building Surveying and project management activities
- Providing technical advice across the organisation's property portfolio
- Supporting and managing projects up to £2m
- Undertaking condition and building surveys where required
- Preparing specifications, reports and project documentation
- Supporting procurement and contractor management
- Monitoring project progress, quality, cost and programme
- Working with internal stakeholders and external consultants
- Providing professional Building Surveying advice throughout the project lifecycle
APC & Career Development
One of the particularly attractive aspects of this opportunity is the development and APC support available. A Senior Building Surveyor within the existing team has recently successfully completed their own APC, meaning there is genuine experience within the team and an understanding of what is required to support someone progressing towards chartership. The organisation is therefore open to Building Surveyors at different stages of their career, making this an excellent opportunity for someone looking for structured development and long-term progression within a client-side environment. MRICS, MCIOB or MCABE would be desirable, although candidates who are working towards professional qualification will also be considered.
Whats on Offer?
- Predominantly home working
- Excellent client-side pension contributions
- Interesting projects valued up to £2m
- Genuine APC and professional development support
- Long-term career progression
- Varied client-side Building Surveying experience
- Opportunity to work alongside an experienced property team
- Excellent work-life balance
- A move away from the traditional consultancy environment
