This is an opportunity to join a well-established, 15-year-old independent consultancy at a pivotal stage of its growth - where your voice is heard, your work is visible, and your future progression is real.
The Opportunity
I’m looking for an experienced Building Surveyor (MRICS preferred, not essential) to join my clients South Manchester office and become a key part of a close-knit, commercially minded team. You’ll work across a genuinely varied workload in the education and retail sectors, delivering both professional instructions and project work - from £30k window replacement programmes through to £1.3m refurbishment and listed building schemes. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys technical work but also wants to help shape a business, not just service it.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Delivering a full range of professional building surveying services, including:
- Schedules of Condition
- Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)
- Technical Due Diligence (TDD)
- Dilapidations (landlord & tenant)

- Building long-term client relationships, not just completing instructions
- Playing an active role in the growth and future direction of the business
Why This Role Is Different
- Not corporate – no layers of management or boxed-in roles
- Real responsibility – your work directly impacts clients and the business
- Clear progression – this is not a “wait your turn” environment
- Future upside – the business is exploring a Management Buy-Out (MBO) and equity participation for senior team members
- Established SME – stability of a proven consultancy, with the agility of a small team
What We’re Looking For
- An experienced Building Surveyor, ideally MRICS (but not essential)
- Comfortable delivering professional instructions independently
- Strong client-facing and communication skills
- Commercially aware and motivated by growth and opportunity
- Someone who wants to be part of a business, not just employed by one
