About The Role

TSA Riley is looking to strengthen our Mechanical & Electrical team by hiring a Quantity Surveyor with a solid foundation of technical knowledge on common M&E systems within the built environment. The role will be based out of our central London office with hybrid working arrangements available. The office is conveniently located in the Blackfriars area of London. You will join a small team and play a pivotal role within that team and the wider UK business. As a Quantity Surveyor you will support our project staff and clients with M&E related cost management services, collaborating with staff and clients across the UK. Your key relationships will involve reporting to the Technical Director of the M&E sector and engaging with senior leaders throughout the UK to provide support and advice on their projects.

How You’ll Contribute

  • Take ownership of cost planning, estimating, procurement, and contract administration to ensure commercial quality.
  • Lead valuations, variations, payment recommendations, and monthly financial reporting.
  • Monitor commercial performance, identify risks or opportunities, and support corrective actions.
  • Track contractual obligations, project changes, and financial risks, escalating when required.
  • Resolve contractual queries, address challenges, and mitigate potential commercial disputes.
  • Maintain cost data, contract records, and reports using TSA Riley systems and templates.
  • Maintain clear, responsive communication with clients and delivery partners.
  • Manage client expectations to support satisfaction and build strong, trusted relationships.
  • Collaborate with project teams to support performance, share knowledge, and contribute to a positive team culture.
  • Manage commercial compliance and contribute to risk management practices in line with TSA Riley standards.
  • Contribute to proposals, benchmarking, sector initiatives, and continuous improvement activities.

About You

We are looking for Quantity Surveyors who bring a strong foundation of commercial knowledge, delivery coordination experience, and a collaborative drive to manage the cost and contractual aspects of project delivery. They thrive in dynamic environments, communicate clearly, and contribute to a positive team culture while supporting strong client outcomes.

  • A tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline. Ideally accredited by the RICS.
  • Several years of experience in delivering quantity surveying or commercial services in a consulting or client-side environment.
  • Experience specifically focusing on the M&E packages of larger projects within the built environment, with a strong foundation of technical knowledge relating to common M&E systems.
  • Progressing towards attaining chartership with the RICS or a similar equivalent professional body.
  • Solid understanding of cost planning, estimating, procurement, and contract administration.
  • Curiosity and adaptability to work across sectors, client accounts and different delivery contexts.
  • Proficiency with digital tools to support financial tracking, documentation, and reporting.
  • A reputation for high‑quality work and a collaborative, effective working style.
  • Critical thinking and problem‑solving skills to support effective commercial delivery.
  • Experience working in agile environments and contributing to cross‑functional teams.
