TryHackMe is the fastest-growing online cyber security training platform. Our mission is to make learning and teaching cyber security easier by providing gamified security exercises and challenges. Having only been around for a handful of years, we’ve grown to more than 7+ million community members and our growth isn’t slowing down!

We’re looking for a Customer Marketing Manager, Community & Events to build, engage, and scale the TryHackMe community across learners, professionals, educators, and industry partners — both online and offline. At TryHackMe, community is not a side channel — it’s a core growth engine. Millions of learners start with us, but our goal is to turn curiosity into capability, capability into careers, and careers into long-term advocacy across the cybersecurity ecosystem.

In this role, you’ll own the day-to-day health of our community spaces (Reddit, Discord, and beyond), while also building structured programs for ambassadors, professionals, educators, and B2B audiences. You’ll help bring the community to life through events, partnerships, and advocacy initiatives that support brand, product adoption, and enterprise influence. Reporting to the Head of Marketing, you’ll act as the connective tissue between users, customers, partners, and internal teams — turning community insight into action.

What You Will Do

  • Community Growth & Engagement (B2C + B2B)
    • Own and execute a community growth and engagement strategy across Reddit, Discord, and emerging platforms (Telegram, WhatsApp, etc.)
    • Foster authentic, daily engagement by:
    • Answering questions
    • Sparking discussion
    • Highlighting community wins, progress, and success stories
  • Launch, moderate, and scale new community spaces, ensuring they are safe, inclusive, and aligned with TryHackMe’s voice and values
  • Develop clear community guidelines, moderation workflows, and escalation processes
  • Programs, Advocacy & Ambassadors
    • Build and scale community programs including:
    • Student and professional ambassadors
    • Educator and university champions
    • Power users and subject-matter advocates
  • Create structured advocacy paths — from active learner → contributor → leader → champion
  • Equip advocates with enablement resources: messaging, content, event kits, and playbooks
  • Events & Offline Community Activation
    • Plan and deliver offline and hybrid community initiatives, such as:
    • Local meetups and chapter-style events
    • University partnerships and workshops
    • Hackathons, CTFs, and community-led activations
  • Partner with Field Marketing, Brand, and Sales to support:
    • Industry events
    • Practitioner meetups
    • Professional and B2B-focused community experiences
  • Ensure events strengthen community loyalty while supporting broader GTM goals (brand, expansion, pipeline influence)
  • B2B, Professional & Partner Community
    • Support the growth of professional and enterprise-facing community segments, including:
    • Cybersecurity professionals and hiring managers
    • Educators and institutional partners
    • Industry and technology partners
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, and Partnerships to:
    • Align community initiatives with GTM priorities
    • Support co-marketed events, webinars, and partner activations
    • Act as a feedback channel between community members and internal teams, surfacing insights that inform product, messaging, and roadmap decisions
  • Measurement, Insight & Strategy
    • Define and track community health metrics:
    • Engagement, retention, advocacy, sentiment, and growth
  • Report on community-driven impact across:
    • Brand awareness
    • Product adoption
    • Event performance and influence
  • Champion community insights internally, ensuring the voice of learners and professionals informs company strategy
  • What You Will Bring

    • Essential
      • 3–5+ years of experience in community management, ideally in tech, cybersecurity, SaaS, or STEM education
      • Hands-on experience managing and growing communities on Discord, Reddit, or similar platforms
      • Strong instinct for brand voice, tone, and consistency
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills — engaging, empathetic, and clear
      • Passion for cybersecurity, technology, or education — you’re curious and excited to learn
      • Experience using data and qualitative insight to assess community health and engagement
    • Desirable
      • Experience building or scaling structured community or advocacy programs
      • Exposure to B2B, professional, or partner-facing communities
      • Event planning experience (meetups, hackathons, workshops, or conferences)
      • Familiarity with community analytics, moderation tooling, or social listening platforms
      • Startup or scale-up experience — comfortable owning ambiguity and building from scratch
      • Creative, experimental mindset with a bias toward action and iteration

    Why Join TryHackMe

    • Own a community that genuinely shapes the future of cybersecurity education and careers
    • Build programs that span learners → professionals → enterprises
