Job Description
About TrydaNi
TrydaNi is developing a network of electric car clubs across Wales. We are a Community Benefit Society funded by the Lottery and Welsh Government.
Members join their local club via our app or website, and can then access all vehicles in our network.
We’ve spent the past two years refining our service and deploying technology (developed by our European cooperative partners, The Mobility Factory). We’re now starting to expand the network and increase usage of existing vehicles.
Role Overview
- TrydaNi’s Chief Community Officer (CCO) will be the driving force behind our community engagement, growth and marketing strategy.
- Your objective is to ensure that our community thrives and becomes an engine of word-of-mouth growth as we expand.
- You will develop a close understanding of our members (and potential members) to ensure that we are meeting their needs, and that they understand the service we are providing.
- You will help lead our team alongside the CEO and will occasionally be required to deputise for the CEO for short periods.
Who we are looking for
- We’re looking for a self-motivated individual who is confident thinking strategically as well as being available to meet the needs of our team and other stakeholders (including TrydaNi’s board of directors). The right candidate will be creative and optimistic but not afraid to assert themselves when required. Prior management experience is vital, and we welcome clearly articulated views on management best practices.
- You should have a passion for social enterprise and sustainability initiatives, ideally with direct experience within a social/non-profit enterprise. You should also acknowledge that one of TrydaNi’s core objectives is to achieve financial sustainability and be ready to prioritise activity that increases income.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop strategies to engage with local communities across Wales
- Understand TrydaNi’s technology setup and develop healthy feedback loops with users
- Design and implement an effective growth strategy underpinned by appropriate KPIs
- Lead member engagement and communication initiatives (e.g. setting guidelines for communicating via email and WhatsApp)
- Build and manage relationships with community partners as we expand
- Lead member recruitment and retention strategies to build an engaged user base
Required Experience/Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to understand and articulate user needs, ideally in relation to technology product adoption
- Experience developing and executing marketing strategy (ideally including via paid advertising channels)
- Proven management experience
- Proficiency in using digital platforms (such as WhatsApp and Instagram) for community engagement
- Familiarity with the cultural and social landscapes of Wales including knowledge of the Welsh language (fluency preferable but not required)
- Meets all the requirements in our terms and conditions to become a TrydaNi member
Application Process
Candidates are invited to submit a CV and cover letter detailing their relevant experience and motivation for applying. In the email or cover letter please respond to the following brief:
- After learning about our services via our website, write a short paragraph of text suitable for sharing on social media (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp) including whatever content/images you feel are appropriate.
- The content should explain the benefits of the service with the intention of getting new members to sign up but does not need to conform to a typical “advert” format. Explain which audiences you are trying to reach and why, and how you would go about reaching them (assume access to a reasonable budget).
- The content should feature English and Welsh (any mistakes in auto-translated text will be overlooked).
- Shortlisted candidates will be invited to interview (either in person or online depending on location).
Salary: £40k FTE (pro-rated)
Location: Flexible/remote but at least 1 day/week in Machynlleth (alongside CEO)
