We are looking for a Senior UX Creative (Membership) who is passionate about driving member adoption through high-impact visual storytelling and seamless customer journeys. You excel at creating the "hook"—crafting intuitive, high-quality interfaces and campaign concepts that turn unknown users into known, highly engaged advocates, and ultimately loyal paying members across multiple brands and markets in e.g. technology, lifestyle and finance.
Reporting to the Head of UX, you will sit within the Technology & Engineering department but operate within a squad model, taking daily strategic direction from the Membership Group. Your role is to bridge the gap between product utility and marketing performance, ensuring our membership brands have a distinct and compelling "look and feel" that inspires action.
You'll represent design expertise across the entire process—from researching member motivations and designing gamification mechanics to producing high-fidelity assets for performance marketing and site integration.
Key Responsibilities:- Drive Membership Adoption: Strategize and conceptualize "Creative Engagement" formats—such as interactive polls, "Join the Club" prompts, and gated content hooks—to hit acquisition targets.
- Frictionless Monetisation: Design premium features, seamless checkout flows, and paywalls that clearly articulate brand value. Your goal is to drive such high engagement that subscribing or paying becomes an absolute no-brainer for the user.
- Campaign & Brand Identity: Take ownership of the visual identity for membership launches (targeting 3 brand launches per month), ensuring a consistent and visually compelling premium "look and feel" across all platforms that also converts powerfully.
- Gamification & Interaction: Design mechanics that increase "Sessions per Member" and "Page Views per Member" through rewarding user experiences and loyalty-driven design.
- Performance-Led UX: Use qualitative and quantitative data to optimize the membership funnel, focusing on Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) and reducing friction in the sign-up process.
- Creative Assets: Develop and iterate performance-led creative assets for paid social, display and video platforms, optimised for platform behaviours and structured creative testing frameworks.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the Growth Hacker and CRM Lead to create and test ad creatives and email templates that align with the core product UX.
- Stakeholder & Squad Leadership: Lead the design process within the Membership squad, balancing technical feasibility with the high-paced requirements of the brand rollout plan.
- Design lifecycle and retention-focused campaigns (onboarding, upgrades, and win-back) that reinforce value perception and reduce churn, by focusing on the ongoing maintenance and development of Figma design systems for membership components. This includes guaranteeing accessibility and scalability across over 200 media brands.
- Mentorship: Inspire the wider UX team by demonstrating how creative, marketing-led design can coexist with and enhance user-centered principles.
- Hands-on experience in UX/UI design, with a significant portion dedicated to Marketing Design, Performance Creative, or Membership/Subscription products across multiple brands and markets.
- Strong portfolio that showcases not just wireframes, but high-fidelity campaign creative and case studies where design directly influenced growth metrics (Acquisition, Retention, or CRO) including the design thinking and process behind them.
- User-Centric Problem Solving: Proven ability to translate unmet user needs and behavioral data into compelling, commercially successful design solutions and brand propositions.
- Gamification Knowledge: Experience designing interactive or incentivized user experiences is highly desirable.
- Agile Mentality: Comfortable working in a fast-paced "squad" environment with the ability to deliver at a high cadence (e.g., supporting multiple brand launches monthly).
The expected range for this role is £50,000- £55,000. This is a UK, Remote-based role.
