We are recruiting for an experienced Production Quality Inspector / CMM Inspector to join a precision engineering company. The role has a strong focus on dimensional inspection, quality control, and CMM programming/operation to ensure components meet required standards and specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out in-process and final inspection of machined components using a range of metrology equipment
- Programme, operate and modify CMM inspection routines (Mitutoyo MCOSMOS experience preferred)
- Conduct manual inspections using micrometers, verniers and other measuring instruments
- Inspect machined components throughout production to ensure quality and tolerance requirements are met
- Accurately record inspection data, including inspection and non-conformance reports and quality records
- Identify non-conforming products and support investigations into quality concerns
- Work closely with CNC machinists, engineering and quality teams to resolve inspection issues and improve product quality
Tooling & Measurement Support
- Support tool pre-setting activities and preparation of tooling and fixtures for production
- Assist with inspection and condition assessment of tooling assemblies
- Help maintain tooling records and support tool control processes
- Assist with calibration and verification of measuring and inspection equipment
- Support calibration tracking and report damaged or out-of-tolerance measuring equipment
Skills & Experience Required
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a Quality Inspection, Quality Assurance or Mechanical Engineering role
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD data
- Proven experience operating and programming CMM machines
- Good understanding of inspection techniques and quality control processes
- Proficient in Microsoft Office packages including Word and Excel
Desirable
- Experience using QMS or ERP systems
- Experience with Mitutoyo MCOSMOS software
- Engineering or quality-related qualification
Hours:
- Monday to Thursday: 07:00 – 15:30
- Friday: 07:00 – 12:00
