About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our welcoming team located in the heart of Kensington and Chelsea. As a Teaching Assistant, you will support the delivery of high-quality education, assisting the class teacher in providing tailored learning experiences for students. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic about working with children and helping them to succeed academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the class teacher in the planning and delivery of lessons, ensuring all students are engaged and supported.
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students, helping them overcome any learning challenges.
- Encourage students to develop their independence and problem-solving skills.
- Support students with special educational needs (SEN), providing targeted interventions when necessary.
- Help with classroom organization and preparation of teaching materials.
- Monitor student progress, track development, and provide feedback to the teacher.
- Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Work collaboratively with the teaching team to promote the overall wellbeing and academic progress of all students.
Key Requirements
- A strong passion for working with children and supporting their learning.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with both students and staff.
- Previous experience working in a school or childcare setting is desirable but not essential.
- A patient, approachable, and flexible attitude.
- GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade C or above) or equivalent.
- Willingness to engage in professional development and training.
Desirable
- A relevant qualification in supporting teaching and learning (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification).
- Experience supporting children with SEN (e.g., autism, dyslexia, or learning disabilities).
- An up-to-date DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service).
