About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our welcoming team located in the heart of Kensington and Chelsea. As a Teaching Assistant, you will support the delivery of high-quality education, assisting the class teacher in providing tailored learning experiences for students. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic about working with children and helping them to succeed academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the class teacher in the planning and delivery of lessons, ensuring all students are engaged and supported.
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students, helping them overcome any learning challenges.
  • Encourage students to develop their independence and problem-solving skills.
  • Support students with special educational needs (SEN), providing targeted interventions when necessary.
  • Help with classroom organization and preparation of teaching materials.
  • Monitor student progress, track development, and provide feedback to the teacher.
  • Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Work collaboratively with the teaching team to promote the overall wellbeing and academic progress of all students.

Key Requirements

  • A strong passion for working with children and supporting their learning.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with both students and staff.
  • Previous experience working in a school or childcare setting is desirable but not essential.
  • A patient, approachable, and flexible attitude.
  • GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade C or above) or equivalent.
  • Willingness to engage in professional development and training.

Desirable

  • A relevant qualification in supporting teaching and learning (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification).
  • Experience supporting children with SEN (e.g., autism, dyslexia, or learning disabilities).
  • An up-to-date DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service).
