At TruTravels, we're on a mission to change lives through travel. We're looking for a commercially minded Performance Marketing Manager to help us reach more travellers, grow our community and drive the next phase of our growth. This role is perfect for someone who loves performance marketing but wants more than just managing campaigns. You'll own our paid media activity across Meta, Google and TikTok, working closely with Creative, Content, CRM and CRO to turn marketing activity into measurable business performance.

We're looking for someone who loves testing, solving problems and uncovering opportunities in data. Someone who can turn insights into action and action into measurable results. The ideal candidate is both analytical and creative, equally comfortable diving into performance data, challenging assumptions and developing new ideas that improve results. If you're naturally curious, commercially minded and excited by the challenge of continuous optimisation, we'd love to hear from you.

About TruTravels: TruTravels exists to create life-changing group travel experiences that truly benefit all those involved. For over a decade, we've been helping young travellers discover the world through unforgettable group experiences. Today we operate across Asia, Europe, Africa and Latin America and are proud to be one of the fastest-growing youth travel brands in the industry. But we're not just building a travel company. We're building a brand and a community for people who want more from life than the ordinary. Everything we do is guided by our values, our purpose and our commitment to making a positive difference through our People & Planet Promise.

Why This Role Is Different: This isn't a role where you'll sit behind an agency waiting for reports. You'll be hands-on. You'll have ownership. You'll have the opportunity to influence how we acquire customers, how we invest our marketing budget and how we improve performance across the entire customer journey. You'll work closely with our Head of Growth Strategy & Marketing Operations helping shape the future of our direct growth strategy. If you enjoy autonomy, accountability and being trusted to make decisions, you'll fit right in.

What You'll Be Responsible For:

  • Paid Media Performance: Own the day-to-day management and optimisation of paid media campaigns across Meta, Google, TikTok and emerging platforms. Manage media budgets effectively to maximise performance and efficiency. Monitor key commercial metrics including ROAS, CPA, Conversion Rate and Sales Production. Identify opportunities to improve campaign performance through audience targeting, messaging, creative, landing page optimisation and customer journey improvements. Support forecasting, budget allocation and growth planning across channels.
  • Campaign Strategy & Execution: Plan, launch and optimise campaigns that support our marketing objectives. Work closely with Creative and Content teams to develop high-performing advertising creative. Ensure campaigns support one of our core marketing objectives: Community, Consideration, Conversion. Feed performance insights back into campaign planning and creative development. Use customer behaviour and performance data to inform campaign strategy and decision making.
  • Testing & Optimisation: Build a culture of experimentation and continuous improvement across paid media. Design and execute structured testing programmes across audiences, creative, messaging, landing pages and customer journeys. Use data and customer behaviour insights to identify optimisation opportunities throughout the funnel. Analyse test results, extract learnings and implement improvements that drive measurable business impact. Partner closely with Creative, Content and CRO teams to continuously improve campaign performance and conversion rates. Develop a testing roadmap focused on delivering incremental gains that compound over time.
  • Reporting & Insights: Deliver clear weekly and monthly reporting focused on actionable insight rather than vanity metrics. Translate data into recommendations that improve business performance. Proactively identify trends, opportunities and risks within performance data. Turn complex datasets into clear, commercially focused recommendations. Use analytical insights to influence campaign strategy, budget allocation and optimisation priorities. Help improve attribution, tracking and marketing measurement across the business.
  • Growth & Innovation: Explore new audience opportunities, channels and platform developments. Stay ahead of industry trends and best practices. Identify ways AI and automation can improve efficiency and performance. Support TruTravels' ambition of becoming a smarter, more data-driven marketing organisation.

What Success Looks Like: The best candidate for this role won't simply manage campaigns. They would: Spot opportunities others miss. Use data to make smarter decisions. Continuously test and improve performance. Balance analytical thinking with creative problem solving. Take ownership of results and proactively drive change. Turn insights into action that delivers measurable commercial impact.

In your first 12 months, success would look like: Improved efficiency and effectiveness across our paid media activity. Stronger customer acquisition performance across key source markets. A structured culture of testing and experimentation embedded within the team. Improved reporting, visibility and commercial accountability. Clear improvements in marketing performance through data-led optimisation and decision making.

What We're Looking For:

  • Essential: 5+ years experience managing performance marketing campaigns across Meta and Google Ads. Proven experience managing significant paid media budgets and delivering measurable commercial results. Strong understanding of attribution, analytics, conversion tracking and digital funnels. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify opportunities and drive performance improvements. Experience building reporting frameworks and translating performance data into actionable recommendations. Strong understanding of testing methodologies and experimentation across audiences, creative, landing pages and customer journeys. Experience supporting forecasting, budget planning and performance modelling. Strong communication skills and confidence presenting performance insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Highly organised, proactive and accountable.
  • Desirable: Experience within travel, lifestyle, ecommerce or consumer brands. Experience managing annual media budgets of £500k+. Experience working alongside CRO, UX or website optimisation functions. Experience using AI tools to improve campaign performance, reporting or workflow efficiency. Experience working across CRM, email marketing or wider customer acquisition channels.

The Type of Person Who Thrives at Tru: You'll thrive in this role if you're naturally curious and always looking for ways to improve. You enjoy digging into performance data, spotting patterns and uncovering opportunities others might miss. You're analytical, but not purely analytical. You understand that the best performance marketing comes from combining data, creativity and customer understanding. You love testing new ideas, challenging assumptions and continuously improving results. Most importantly, you take ownership. You don't wait for someone to tell you where the opportunities are, you actively go looking for them.
