Location: Harrogate/Leeds (Hybrid)

Job Type: Full-time, 1-year contract with view to permanent.

The Opportunity:

As an Immigration & Employment Paralegal, you will play a pivotal role in supporting both of these highly regarded teams, working closely with experienced solicitors while gaining hands-on experience across both practice areas.

A key part of this role is acting as a vital bridge between the Immigration and Employment teams, helping to establish and develop our business services and ensuring continuity of service for clients who require both immigration and employment law support. Your work will contribute directly to strengthening the links between these areas, ensuring seamless service delivery and business development opportunities.

For the right person, this role could be a stepping stone towards a long-term career in immigration and/or employment law. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist solicitors with a varied caseload of both immigration and employment matters, supporting individuals and businesses.
  • Prepare and draft legal documents, including application forms, supporting statements, contracts, policies, and tribunal documentation.
  • Liaise with clients, counsel, and relevant authorities, ensuring effective communication throughout the legal process.
  • Conduct legal research to support case preparation, staying up to date with changes in immigration and employment law and policy.
  • Maintain meticulous case records, ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Support solicitors in tribunal proceedings, including preparing bundles and liaising with clients and barristers.
  • Contribute to business development activities, including drafting online content such as blogs and videos.
  • Provide administrative and case management support to ensure smooth case progression.
  • Support legal aid and reduced-fee work, reinforcing the firm’s commitment to ethical and accessible legal services.

  • A degree (law or non-law).
  • Previous legal experience, particularly in immigration, employment, or a related field.
  • Interest in long-term career progression within either immigration or employment law—this role may suit an aspiring trainee solicitor or those looking to complete their SQE Qualifying Work Experience.
  • Experience with legal aid work.
