About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to join Truth Legal’s Clinical Negligence team and make a real difference to the lives of clients who have suffered harm through substandard medical care. You will manage a varied and complex caseload of clinical negligence claims from initial instruction through to resolution, working closely with medical experts, counsel, and other professionals to secure the best possible outcomes for your clients. We are looking for a driven and empathetic solicitor who combines strong technical knowledge of clinical negligence law with a genuine commitment to client care. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of clinical negligence claims at all stages, from initial enquiry and case assessment through to settlement or trial.
  • Advise clients with sensitivity and clarity on the merits of their claim, likely timescales, and funding.
  • Instruct and liaise with medical experts to obtain evidence in support of breach of duty and causation.
  • Draft pleadings, schedules of loss, witness statements, and correspondence to a high standard.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the firm, including the Personal Injury team, to ensure a joined‑up approach to client service.
  • Contribute to the development of the clinical negligence department through business development activity.
  • Mentor and support junior fee earners and paralegals within the team.
  • Ensure all files are managed in accordance with the firm's compliance requirements and SRA standards.

Key Requirements

  • Qualified solicitor with a minimum of 3+ years PQE in clinical negligence.
  • Experience handling a broad range of clinical negligence matters including surgical errors, misdiagnosis, birth injuries, medication errors, and delayed treatment claims.
  • Demonstrable ability to manage complex, high-value cases with multiple expert witnesses.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to explain complex medical and legal concepts clearly to clients.
  • Strong client care skills and a compassionate, patient‑centred approach.
  • Ability to manage a busy caseload independently, prioritise effectively, and meet court deadlines.
