As a Warehouse Operative your role is to ensure that the receiving, storage, picking and loading of stock is efficiently and timely managed. You will need a strong work ethic and a real attention to detail. The fast-paced and energised environment relies on organisation and efficiency, and with so much ground to cover in the line of duty, it is important to ensure that you have a good level of fitness to enable you to comfortably carry out your tasks. Whatever task you are performing, your attention to detail will make sure that every parcel gets to the customer right and on time.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Unload, load, sort and accurately record deliveries
- Inspect the quality, quantity, and condition of garments
- Pick and pack orders to customer specifications
- Assist with the loading of outbound deliveries
- Reprocessing returned goods
- Support stock counts and movements
- Assist within all operational work areas as and when required
- Deliver targets to tight deadlines daily
- Keep the warehouse safe, clean, and tidy
- Adhere to company procedures and policies
Skills and experience required:
- Previous warehouse experience of minimum 1 year
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job - e.g. lifting and moving heavy boxes/products (manual handling training given)
- Good level of fitness to cover a large warehouse
- Strong attention to detail and be able to follow instructions accurately and efficiently
- Able to work under pressure within a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- To use IT equipment as part of daily activities including Hand Held Devices and PC
- Numerate and literate
- Able to work as part of a team or independently
This is a full-time position, 38 hours per week, specifically Monday to Thursday 8.15am-4.45pm and Friday 8.15am-2.50pm, with an unpaid lunch break. There is a requirement to work flexibly during our 'Back to School' period (July to September) between the hours of 8.00am - 8.00pm during the week and/or weekend. Overtime rates paid at time + half first 4hrs and double time thereafter.
