As a BI Developer, you will be working on expanding reporting capabilities, enhancing business intelligence outputs, and supporting the development of a modernised data environment. You will collaborate closely with technical teams and stakeholders across the business to deliver meaningful insights and scalable reporting solutions.
Key responsibilities:
- Design and develop insightful dashboards, reports, and KPI visualisations using Power BI and DAX
- Create and maintain robust semantic models to support business reporting requirements
- Support the ongoing administration of Power BI Service, including workspace management, governance, security, and reporting accessibility
- Work closely with stakeholders across multiple departments to gather reporting requirements and deliver tailored BI solutions
- Produce clear documentation for reporting processes, datasets, and business definitions
- Investigate and resolve data quality or reporting issues to ensure accuracy and reliability
- Deliver user guidance and support to encourage effective adoption of reporting tools
- Assist in the development of trusted datasets and reporting frameworks using SQL and modern transformation methodologies
- Support wider data initiatives, including cloud migration and reporting infrastructure improvements
Previous experience in a BI Developer, BI Analyst, Reporting Specialist, or similar data-focused role. Strong experience with Power BI, DAX, Power Query, and reporting best practices. Experience creating semantic models and delivering scalable reporting solutions. Strong SQL skills for querying, transforming, and developing datasets. Understanding of data warehousing methodologies, including fact and dimension modelling. Strong grasp of data visualisation principles and dashboard design standards. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues.
