We are growing our engineering team at Trustpilot and are looking to welcome a Senior Software Engineer into the Trust Tech department!

You will join a cross-functional team with full ownership of our products and codebase, where you will take part in every step of the development process, from ideation to maintenance. A place where you can grow as an individual, while also having an influence (or even leading) on the direction of projects and technological choices.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will leverage your extensive knowledge and experience to spearhead the development of our products. You\’ll be instrumental in the technical direction of projects, from initial concept to final deployment and ongoing maintenance. Your expertise will help guide architectural decisions, ensure code quality, and mentor fellow engineers, promoting a culture of technical excellence and innovation.

About the team:You will be joining a brand new team being built within the Trust Tech department, focusing specifically on businesses.

The team is responsible for building and maintaining automated systems that enforce Trustpilot\’s terms of use for businesses. This includes developing systems for automatic detection, enforcement of misuse, and internal investigation tools.

This work is vital to maintaining Trust and Transparency on the platform. To achieve this, we collaborate closely with Data Scientists, Data Ops, and ML Ops to build sophisticated automated architectures that integrate detection models and robustly scale our misuse enforcement.

What you\’ll be doing:

Understanding the existing technical landscape and planning, implementing, and releasing new features with a focus on backend stability and scalability.

Architecting solutions to handle high-volume data processing for fraud detection while maintaining the internal tooling frontends used for investigations.

Troubleshooting existing software, squashing bugs across the stack, and optimizing database performance.

Inspire and challenge the organisation with your knowledge of how to solve complex architectural problems.

Help to lead the technical direction of the team through the adoption of best practices, tooling, and Infrastructure as Code.

Help mentor and coach less experienced colleagues.

Who you are:

Experience at a Senior level, building full-stack applications, but with a deep focus and passion for backend engineering.

Extensive proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript.

Competent with frontend frameworks (specifically React).

Proficient AWS experience is a must.

A customer-centric and solution-oriented mindset with a bias to action.

Motivated to push yourself and the people around you to constantly improve in a healthy way.

Nice to have:

Experience integrating AI/ML models or working with LLMs/Generative AI in a backend context.

Experience with Google Cloud Platform services (specifically BigQuery or Pub/Sub).
