We are looking for a motivated and pragmatic Employment Counsel to help shape how we support and protect our employees as we continue to scale globally. Sitting at the intersection of law, people, and business strategy, this role is a key opportunity to support the Director of Legal (People & Community) in acting as trusted adviser to our People & Community team. You will provide guidance on employment law across multiple jurisdictions, covering both contentious and non-contentious matters, and strengthen the frameworks that enable our growth. You will also support strategic people projects, partner closely with colleagues across the business, and balance complex legal challenges with commercial realities. Reporting to the Director of Legal (People & Community), you will be part of our fast-paced, dynamic, and fun Legal team. The employment legal function sits within the broader commercial legal team, who handle a wide variety of complex and novel issues at the forefront of trust, helping Trustpilot scale across multiple markets. What you\’ll be doing

  • Advise our People & Community team on a broad range of employment and reward matters across multiple jurisdictions
  • Partner on strategic projects with people impact, ensuring compliance and best practice
  • Strengthen policies, templates, and frameworks to drive consistency across global teams
  • Deliver training and guidance to stakeholders across the business
  • Act as a SME on employment topics within the Legal team, advising on cross-over issues such as data privacy and litigation
  • Monitor legal developments across our markets and ensure we remain compliant as we scale
  • Partner with external counsel on property/office and non-contentious IP matters
  • Drive efficiencies through innovative use of legal technology

Qualifications

  • Qualified to practice law in England & Wales, Scotland, or Denmark
  • Strong employment law background (minimum 3 years PQE or equivalent), with experience advising across more than one jurisdiction
  • Pragmatic and detail-oriented, able to deliver business-focused advice
  • Organised, proactive, and comfortable juggling multiple priorities at pace
  • A strong communicator with the ability to build relationships across levels and geographies
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)

Nice to have

  • Experience across multiple European markets
  • In-house experience in the tech sector
  • Experience with workplace investigations
  • Exposure to commercial legal matters (e.g., leases, IP)
  • Interest in technology and process improvement
