Responsibilities
- Investigate & audit: Conduct deep dive investigations into emerging trends in misuse and fraudulent behavior to identify patterns that are not yet captured by current detection.
- Query data: Use SQL to navigate databases (e.g., Google BigQuery), pull information to support investigations, and build rules or mitigations to prevent fraudulent behavior across the platform.
- Validate defenses: Perform audits and validations on existing fraud detection engines and rules to ensure accuracy and minimize false positives.
- Enhance processes: Design and craft detection prompts, validate detection performance, and support development and testing of technologies incorporating AI and automation.
- Cross-collaboration: Work with data science and engineering teams to improve internal tools and methods for detecting and preventing fraudulent activity at scale.
- Advocacy: Take ownership of projects within Fraud, particularly in Business Detection and Operational Excellence, and educate other teams about the work.
- Team support: Assist the Fraud team in developing, identifying, creating, and maintaining policies and procedures impacting Business Detection operations.
Qualifications
- +2 years of experience in conducting investigations and developing/delivering detection strategies and solutions.
- Proven track record in identifying and analyzing fraudulent behavior.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to implement and drive projects from start to finish.
- Proactive, problem-solving mindset with solid business acumen.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a self-starting and enthusiastic approach.
- Skilled at understanding complex problems and identifying effective solutions.
- Able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with a forward-thinking, strategic mindset.
